Default Supertrapp Mufflers for Electra-Glide HELP

Hi, I am new to this forum and need some advice. I am considering putting Supertrapp dual tapered mufflers with the tunable internal discs for my new Ultra Classic. I had V&H slip-ons on my 03 Road King Classic and they were great, but a little loud to put on the Ultra Classic with a radio. I will have a Stage 1 download and open up the air filter. Has anyone had good/bad experience with the Supertrapp dual mufflers? Did they give the expected added performance? How is the sound? Thanks for all you help and input. Good riding! Old Biker Bill

My buddy had the Supertrapp mufflers on his '96 Electra Glide Standard. He liked them so well that he took them off the '96 and is putting them on his new Ultra Classic. He should take delivery this week after they finish all his mods.

By the way, I have a '04 Road King Classic with the Vance and Hines Basic slip-ons. Which V&H slip-ons did you have on your RK. Mine sound great but are at about at the upper limit of noise for me.

DAK, I have/had the Vance & Hines 4" slip-ons with the turned down end caps. I really liked them on the 03 Road King and I still have them, but like you, I think them might be a little loud on the new Dresser with a stereo system. I had them on the RK for just over 10,000 miles and no problems and no discoloration. Vance and Hines are great pipes. Ride Safe. Bill

I have read were Super Trapps make almost as much power as a Thunderheader with half the noise. Everyone I know that has them like them a lot.

Regards,

Bill
