Default TWIN CAM A vs. B

Maybe a dumb question maybe not.

Will a Twin Cam A from an 06 Glide, fit in a 1999 Heratage Softail?????
Destroyed my motor heading to Cape Code on Sat. morning and have a chance to pick this motor up for short money.

And you see double for hours after getting off the scoot! LMAO

Sorry George, just had to do it, and back to the original question, an A motor wont fit into a B motor bike.

a 1999 heritage softtail was an EVO motor too, right?

1999 dyna was twin cam, but softtail's were still EVO because the B motor wasn't out yet, or at least that's what I had heard.

The 'B' motors have a counter balancer that is supposed to smooth the engine out. While the 'B' engine is mounted solid to the frame, the transmission is mounted to the engine.

However - there are kits to allow the Twin-cam 88 to be placed into tha Evo frame. I have never used one and never talked to anyone who has, but they exist. If the motor is essentially free - seem like a fun thing to try.

Default A motor in Evo frame

I have a 120" TC A motor in my 97 Dyna, Reggie Junior also has one, a 127" TC engine I believe in a Evo ridgid. With the new 2 plane dynamic balancing set up they are very smooth.

A '99 Heritage (or any other softail, or any other '99 for that matter) is not a B motor bike.
And for the guys who don't know, the Softails were Harley's best-selling bikes long before the balanced Twin Cam came along.
