Default 98" kits

Hey guys, I'm new to the boards I had a few questions and figured you were the ones to ask. I currently have a 95", but was wondering about the 98" power and cost. Or should I just rebuild the 95" and change it up a bit. I'd like to be over the 100/100 mark. Thanks in advance.

Whats your current build - cams, head work, fuel management, mileage... Model and year of bike? Unless you need to rebuild the top end, money be better spent on cams. Or are you just trying to get to 100/100 with an entire new build?

I agree, I do a lot of 95 and 98" bore builds here and the 3 cube increase makes about 3 horse and torque difference. More will come from the same amount of effort else where. I have the full skirted CP piston sets here that I use for the 98"'ers, I use the Wiseco, JE, or CP pistons for the 95's. The 98's cost the same as what doing the 95 does.

My current set up is 95", 204's, .030 head gasket, PCIII, stage 1 flash, SE air filter. This was the way I bought the bike it runs okay and I can keep up with ayone I ride with, but it's not in me to just leave it alone. It's got 25000 on it now I was thinking about doing something to it this winter, cams and heads, more than likely. If you guys think I could get closer to 100/100 doing just top end rebuild what cams should I run and who should I get to do the heads.

I like the cnc ported head work that takes out the core shift. An R&R head overhaul in the stage 2 condition with the R&R 525G cams or the Andrews 54 chain will get you the 100 mark conservatively. The stage 2-1/2 head work with the 1.9" intake valve will get you 106-108 T&H at 95"'s with very good street manors.

What kind of exhaust do you have? a good system will bring out a few more ponies.

Yeah I know my exhaust is one weak point, but I love the sound. I got the Mean Mothers shorts. I know for the best numbers I should probably go with a 2 into 1. But the sound is just not for me, I'm willing to give up a few ponies for sound. I'm not racing but I still like to out run my buddies. I talked to my local guy today and he's trying to get me to stay with my 95" set up and just get some good head work done and possibly some andrews 54 cams. So if anyone can hook me up with either of those I think I'm getting ready in the next few weeks.
