D., the flat spot in the curve is a dead spot when riding, in any gear!! I've got to cure this issue, which we think is the carb.

Well... I took the velocity stack off the bike that KJC (claiming it makes more HP/TQ) put on the bike, and borrowed a tear-drop air cleaner assmebly from a co-worker. With that simple change the bike is 100-times more enjoyable to ride on cruising throttle positions!! Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds, both Bad A$$ @ w.o.t, and very nice cruising manners.
I'm not a big fan of the tear-drop style, but it's staying on the bike for now until I buy the air cleaner assembly I want for keepers. BTW, the co-worker likes the velocity stack so much we traded even...
