If I put cycle shack slippons on my 2008 softtail. And I keep the stock Air cleaner. Will it run too lean. I just want a better sound. Dealer wants to sell me a power commander. And a bunch of other stuff. About a 1000 dollers worth.

you will be fine with just the slipons - dealer just trying to get you for $$

the ECM will adjust with no issues. When I took delivery on my 08 FLHX rode 2 miles home and changed out stock to rinehart slip ons. Over 10,000 and no issues with bike or dealer when going for any service

I’ve been asking this “do I need to change air intake” when adding slip ons for many years now.
Seems it’s about 70% yes and 30% no. I still like the put them on and all seems OK your fine.
But then am I doing any harm I’m not aware of? I still don’t know for sure so on my last 3 bikes
(I love Cycle Shack Slip Ons) I had the air intake done also.

Using the search feature you will find the general consensus to be that the closed loop system can adequately compensate for a change in mufflers. Most believe that changing intake properties and exhaust will require a remap or additional fuel management
