Issues without baffles???
I'm getting my Hooker Troublemakers put on my 08 883 Sporty today and asked the dealer about taking the baffles out. They said that without the baffles the valves would get damaged due to lack of back pressure. I understand that the back pressure will be low but I haven't heard of that causing valve or lifter damage. I know I would loose low end power. Is this true or just more dealer BS?

If left untuned it could harm, but prior to any damage, you would have wanted to correct it as it would be ill mannered to the point of "coughing" or "sneezing", especially at low engine rpm.
Best to have a baffled muffler system in place for your enjoyment, as well as the folks in your neighborhood.

Manufacturers spend millions on R&D prior to releasing their pipes and would not put them in if they thought they would not help. Your pipes should still be loud and proud with the baffles if that is what your worried about. I would rather have the low end torque instead of super loud pipes as they will be annoying to you after awhile. Just my 2 pennies.
