Default Upgrading the upgrades

2006 FXST uped to 95" with SE10.25 to 1 pistons, SE211 cams, ported stock T/B, ported heads with 1.900" intake valve, stock headpipes and SE2 slipons. Turned 99HP at 5500 rpm and 97lbs. torque at 4900 rpm. Thinking of going with the SE257 cams and the 58mm T/B. What could I gain out of these changes, or should I leave well enough alone?

I would do the exaust first, you don't see too many builds with stock headpipes and SE slipons. A good exaust will bring out the best of your setup,it isn't worth adding more cam and more fuel with stock pipes and slipons.

For that cam an increase in compression would be needed. Say 10.5 and the power curve on cam is going to be even more upper end than the 211. I have done a few of those kits way back when and you may see 105-108 hp , tq may come up some with the increase in compression but just a straight swap not much of gain, as far as money to increase goes.

Swap your pipes to a fat cat. You should see more power hiding in there.

http://www.zippersperformance.com/do...ist_030509.pdf They have the Fatcat here for $425.00 I see some real nice bikes on this site running these pipes and the price is right.

Yea, I guess the pipes are about the only thing left short of tearing the engine back down and uping things there.

A 58 mm throttle body on the build you are thinking about would be overkill! Go with the Fat Cats on your current build to see how it performs, then move on if you want more.
