Default Harley Slip On Mufflers?

Can anyone tell me how different the Harley Slip on Mufflers make a stock exhaust sound? Thanks.

There are a number of HD slip-ons to choose from. Those that are not Screamin' Eagle II meet EPA noise regulations. Therefore, they are much quieter than the SEII which are labled "For Racing Only".

The SEII slip-on is a nice addition. Deeper rumble at idle, and really barks when you get on it. With all that, it's not so obnoxious that you can't ride through your neighborhood without disturbing everyone.

If the slip-ons say Screamin Eagle on them, they'll be louder than stock. Nice throaty rumble at lower RPMS and a nice throaty roar at speed. Not as loud as VH or other aftermarket systems, but louder than stock.

If the slip-ons only say Harley Davidson on the side, then they are the slash cut mufflers and they are exactly the same as stock mufflers.

As far as slip-ons for touring bikes are concerned, HD has two "race" SE muffler types. One type has replaceable tips and says SE on the side of the muffler. The tips must be purchased separately. They also sell a one piece muffler either slash up or down with no SE on the side. Both muffler styles are "race" only and internally the same. I installed the one piece slash down mufflers on my bike and really like the sound. You can keep them quiet if necessary but they really bark if you "let er snap". Coupled with the SE air cleaner and SERT map the bike runs good like a HD should.

You should take a look D&D slipons http://www.danddexhaust.com/

also Rush slip ons http://www.epiflex.com/rush_dyna.html

Both sites have a video with the pipes/sound

They both have a good sound.

Hey can anyone can tell me if there is a difference between the HD Screamin Eagle catalyst mufflers 80463-08 and regular HD Screamin Eagle Touring Muffiers 65259-00. What would it hurt if I put HD Screamin Eagle Touring Muffiers 65259-00 on my 06 ultra.

I have the touring mufflers on an 05 Ultra and am very pleased with the sound, they are just a little louder than stock. But they still give you that Harley sound.
