Default $700 mistake?

I have an 02 Fatboy that "had" V&H Big Radius pipes with the Big City Thunder baffles that I LOVED. Well I decided to upgrade to a 95" motor, do a Mikuni carb and Thunderheader exhaust.

Performance-wise it's great, but I can't stand the sound of the Thunderheader. The Big Radius was loud-and-proud, but the TH's sound like a Pit-Bull with it's nuts cut-off to me.

What would I lose if I went back to the Big Radius with BCT baffles? Enough to justify sticking with the TH's?

Just curious....

Put your big radius back on and sell the thunderheader
then figger that you did not make a mistake you invested
some money futhering your education in the school of hard
knocks. You are not the first, so screw it lets ride

I lost $700.00 on the same pipes so don't feel bad and I can't sell the old. BSS rear 02sensor removed to tune. The O2 sensor on the pipe stripped beyond repair only fix was to weld the O2 sensor on decided against it and replaced the exhaust with a new set of BSS. One expensive tune but the bike runs and sounds awesome.

You would lose some low to mid tq. going back with just the BR. With the BR and baffles, the baffles may add some low tq but take away mid to high performance. Buy some exhaust gaskets, they are cheap, and put the BR back on. It may be ok for you.

e-bay the thunder header or put some more compression on that motor with better heads and that thunder header will come alive. it will sound better with some compression.

If the pipe is new ride it for a while it will burn off and carbon up and get a bit louder and sound better. Sound and performance 2 totally different deals not to mention looks. All depends on where you want to be.

This is my opinion and I am an exhaust *****!

i have had 7 exhaust systems for my bike to date. . i am past teh sound of a harleyy as there are so many pipes out there that i cannot remember what a real harley sounds like.
i use the borzilla not because i want to because it gives my build the best power i spent my money on.

he said he did not like the sound of the t-header . i said put some compression tio the motor that will give the pipe a diffrent sound.

As George said, if you bring the cubes/compression/cam in the picture, the T/header has a very agressive exhaust note indeed.
