Default Looking for ideas for a "moderate" build on a Fatbob....

Hey guys,

I have a '09 fat bob that I will be interested in starting to mod the engine this fall. I'm in the process of doing all the cosmetic mods this summer/fall and am hoping to do the engine this fall/winter. I have an Indy shop that can do the install for me because I fear it is a little over my head. I am using the bike for shorter rides around town and day rides(less than 300 miles). I'm looking for something that is a little more fun to rip around town on but I don't want to sacrifice reliability. I've read alot about the HQ 107 builds but didn't know what everyone would recommend for my application? Also what about head work and cams while I'm at it. Looking for something with more pep but I definitely want to stay on pump gas, not make any significant clutch changes, and retain reliability. It will be primarily used with only a rider on it(no passenger) and on occasion it may have a t bag on it for a short weekend haul.(although my Ultra will get most of that type of stuff). The bike is currently stock enginewise with a V&H big radius 2-1 pipe, se hi flo a/c kit, and fuelmoto pc5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First get a TTS tuner.
have your cylinders bored to 103 and go with a 6 cam
Baisley ,Hillside or T-man heads set comp up to 10.0 and enjoy.
or
same head guys and bore the cylinders for a 107
call scott from hillside as he has kits ready to go with air cleaners too.
get a good pipe .

You might want to look into regearing also, I'm putting in a 30T pulley and changing the clutch spring while I'm in there.

Thanks guys. If I went with a cylinder bore, top end, heads, cams then what would I need to expect costwise? Thanks again.
