Default Question about exhaust wrap. HELP!

Hi everyone.
I have a nightster and have to keep it stock just incase I choose to trade it up in a year (still undecided). But I want to wrap the stock exhaust with some black wrap. Will it ruin my exhaust or leave a gluey residue on my exhaust when I remove it in a year if I chose to trade it in???
Any feed back would help allot. Thanks you guys.

Yup it will ruin the chrome forever. Does the bike have heat shields? If so, remove the shields and do the wrap and when you want to get rid of the bike, remove the wrap and put the shields back on. If you need help with the heat wrap, check out the heat wrap thread as I have uploaded complete instructions, etc.

I don't want to mislead you but I've had my stock pipes wrapped for two years and when I took the wrap off,
I just buffed them up with Autosol and they where fine. Sure they where not like they where brand new but
they still had some shine to them. Like two year old pipes would normally look.

well I assume they would be all tarnished from the heat anyway. I just don't want them to reject my trade in because I put the exhaust wrap on.
