I have seen plenty...... just look in the "dyno" sections of this and other forums and you will see that those numbers are attainable with a good 2-1 pipe and a good tune - the tune is essential part of the equation.

Thanks for the chart comparison. Puts things into perspective. Was your Stage II build with SE255 cams?

Not trying to insult anyone or their build, but if my numbers were around 90HP / 100TQ after a stage II 103" build I would be very dissapointed.... People are getting those numbers repeatably and consitantly with bolt in cams such as se204 or Woods 6-6 or 555, a/c, 2-1 pipe and a good tune.

No flamers.... just stating the facts.
mhud wasn't bragging on the numbers, just posting information so others could see a direct comparison of the two builds and what he achieved for $1400. A nice improvement for the $$ and it can only get better with headwork and longer cams. Remember, it's a MoCo build.

What you say is true but you have to look beyond the numbers at the torque under the curve. More torque under the curve from 2000-4500 wins the race, even if peak numbers are lower.

Dyna's and Softail'sproduces around 68hp/83tq; stock FLH's produce 71hp/90tq. You won't get 90hp/103tq from a pipe and tune from either without a cam change.

25 posts and no mention of which cam is in this build.

Or did I miss it?

Lots of criticism, analyzing, etc. But no mention of cam.

Not knowing which cam makes me not even able to form an opinion.

Maybe I missed something.

Stage 2 103 = SE255 unless the OP deviated. Good HP for that cam but I think the tuner left some TQ in the dyno room. Still a good improvement from 70/90 to 90/103. At 1400 that's $70/HP; not bad.

Has to be a wonderful improvement in ridability.
Real easy to notice a difference that big.
