Default Break in period if just doing top end?

I've got a SE 103 currently installed and decided to do heads and different cams this year. Nothing on the bottom end is being changed. Am I going to have to go through another break in period when I get the bike back or is that just when dealing with the bottom end?

In reality a break in is only for cyls and rings anyway so it's back to whatever you did when it was new. Contrary to popular belief on this forum there is practically nothing else in the engine that requires special consideration when starting from new. Only seating the rings is needed, even then.

Cool, that's what I thought but then I got to thinking about whether or not things like the new cams, springs, etc might need a little time to break in or not since I've never changed just the top end by itself before.

Heat cycle the valve springs and you're good to go.

All the rest happens while you do the ring seat. Minor crap like a few burrs here and there in the valve train. Nothing to really stop you from full throttle right off the bat. These type of cams use roller lifters, so there's no real breakin for lobes or lifters. Rings and cyls start out rough in order to seat, so they need some special attention.
