Engine mount tight enough...

Engine mount tight enough...
Hello all,
Quick question about the proper torque setting for front rubber engine mount. The single bolt running through the rubber donut. Also while I'm asking, the torque on the swingarm bolt. I've got a service manual ordered, but I don't have it yet, and I'm giving the bike the once over. Bike is 2006 Street Glide.
Thanks,
Mark

Hey Mark....Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on the new bike. This is just my opinion, but your wasting good riding time worrying about the torque values on your brand new motorcycle. Don't get me wrong, those things will be important in the future, but unless your bike is doing something it shouldn't, go ride it like a rental. And if it is doing something strange, let HD do thier thing with the warranty. Now go ride damnit!

Well...OK, but I still wouldn't worry about the torque values at this point. I've had a few new bikes of various flavors and never had an issue with loose engine mounts, swing arm mounts ect. Those are of course considered critical fasteners and either have mechanical locking mechinisms (lock washers) or thread lock on them at the time of assembly.
Have a great trip! Ride safe and kill lots of bugs[sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks Steve,
I agree with you, I do ride it, but I'm taking a trip and I was just going over everything.

Some 06's had to have front mount replaced. As I mentioned above, I'm taking a trip and just checking, and want to make sure they were torqued to spec.
Thanks for the welcome to the forum, and for the response.

OK Mark, here ya go...
Rear swing arm pivot shaft locknut: 40-45 ft-lbs
Front Engine mount to frame bolts: 15-20 ft-lbs
Front engine mounting bracket to rubber mount bolt: 15-20 ft-lbs
Now since you got me to look these up for you, tell me where your trip is taking you
