Drop in Cams
#12
It was a ZX12R with nitrous so yes I like my speed, but this is not a Ninja, it's my cruiser, I just want a little more. I'm asking questions to learn from people that have been there already, it's cheaper that way. Thanks for your input I thought the 26 might be a little weak. I had a PM that got me thinking different.

Ran my stock 88" motor with the WOODS TW-6G CAM for 1 year STOCK VALVE SPRINGS, no issues. Ran like a top, of course when i did the 95" motor it ran at its full potential. This cam likes higher comp. im now at 10-2-1, but like i said RAN FINE at stock comp. STOCK NUMBERS WERE 63 HP AND 79 TQ. WITH 88 MOTOR. 86 HP AND 92 TQ. WITH WOODS-6 AND 88 MOTOR. GOOD LUCK! THIS CAM IS A REAL TORQUER!

When you compare cams, lift and duration are only, no more than, half the things to look at. You must look at, "Lobe Center Angle" and "Lobe Seperation Angle". These two things are rarely shown on a quick look see, but these two very important things, along with agressive cam lift rate, are what seperates Woods from other cam makes. Because of that I would use Roller Rockers. But I would use roller rockers for any aftermarket cam.

The Andrews 37's might be your best option , no need to add 4 degree's of advance , no need to bump compression and the Andrews are usually alot less $. For some other info try to get in touch with Joe Mondello in Tennesee, he does head work(Not trying to tell you to get it) and deals with both lines of cams.I think he runs a Tech Academy alongside of the shop.
