Default New SE fat Plug wires = Code P1353?

I have an 05 Train that has always ran well and not thrown any CEL's since it has been in my possesion. I even installed some chrome slathered USKooliner plug wires against the advice of my mechanic and it still ran good and never threw a CEL.

Fast foward to yesterday when I tossed the USKool plug wires and put on a set of the SE fat wires....I think they are a full 10MM or 8.8's at least.

10 minutes into my ride the check engine light came on and stayed on until I stopped at a light and shut the bike down and restarted it. Then the light came on again for a few seconds and went back out. I pulled over and made double sure my wires were connected properly which they were.

I started it today and made sure I waited until the light went out before I fired the bike. Rode it for a few miles...No light.

Ran the diagnostic self check deal and got code P1353 or front cylinder no combustion.

Cleared the code but didnt have time to ride it anymore.

Should I see if the light comes back on now that I have cleared the code and if so what would be my next step? Bike runs great and were it not for me watching how fast I was going in town I wouldnt have ever known it came on.

Thanks for any help!

I can just about guarantee one of those new plug wires is loose which is causing a cylinder to miss intermittently. Check the wires and make sure you hear the ends snap into place.

Thats what I thought as well....They were both snapped in place and with the code cleared should it reappear on my next ride should it be of concern or???

If you cleared the code, it shouldn't come back so, possibly, one of your plug wires is bad. I've seen this problem before though. I had a friend who got his bike serviced and the tech didn't properly secure his plug wire ends. The plug wire was on, but not snapped into place. His bike ran fine and he never noticed anything wrong, but his check engine light came on. The motor was probably only missing a beat when he would hit a bump or something like that. Anyway, when we checked the code, it was the same as you got: P1353 - front cylinder no combustion. I pulled the front plug wire off, reinstalled it, cleared the code, and it never came back. When you checked your front plug wire, did you just push on the connections to make sure they were tight? If so, try disconnecting and reconnecting it and see if that doesn't do the trick for you. You never know, that might just work. If it doesn't, then I would suspect a bad plug wire. You could test this by clearing the code again and replacing the new front cylinder plug wire with one of the old ones.
