"DIY TD" experimenting on Ultras....
IF (just sayin' IF) a guy wanted to, because he had them lying around---what would be wrong with putting two left-side (non-cat) mufflers onto a TD system? They would be balanced---which is one of the "stock muffler warnings" with TD. A buddy did so, and they don't sound all that bad, and don't seem to affect stock performance.
Conversely--what would happen if one put two right-side, catalytic mufflers onto a TD system. No harm, true? Plenty of backpressure, balance, etc.??
And while I'm asking---I read about DIY mod's to mufflers (removing baffles, drilling, etc)---is it not possible to modify stock catalytic mufflers? Are there any "gains" to be had from doing so?
Thanks for any info and advice.

OK, Mike...
so what we're saying is that the Left stock muffler is more restrictive than the Right (the one with the "cat stuff" in it)? Yes?
Then, might there be an advantage (if one were going to experiment) in using two Right side (cat) mufflers?
I have seen a couple of threads which talk about modifying the catalytic mufflers, so it must be possibility.
Thanks, and will appreciate any more thoughts and advice.
