Default 06 Fatboy Exhaust

I'm going with V&H BSS and I'm shopping around now. Thought I'd call local dealer today just to see
how much they'd cost there? (about $130 more)

Anyway, here's the deal...

I've seen it asked many times but my understanding is that I can change the exhaust and don't
have to worry about the PCIII or even the intake if I don't want to? I understand though that I
won't get as much out of it performance wise unless I do. But the parts guy said that the PCIII
(or equivalent) and the high performance intake is a must! That failure to do so could seriously
damage the engine if it's run too lean for too long.

What the real deal?

Also, I'm not opposed to going with the PCIII or a high performance intake but my only thing is that
I want to keep my original cover for the intake. I haven't yet reserched the possibilities so if there's a
reccomended set up or someone thinks there's something better than the PCIII let me know please.

thanks.

I'd go with whatever tuner your mechanic is most familiar with. As to the breather, you can install a K&N airfilter in place of your stock filter with no mods.
