Default 95 inch build pinging, looking for fix

My 95 build has a pinging problem in my cruise range (2800 to 3200 RPM). I found out that my S&S 510 cam is speced for 9.7 to 1 or less, and I am at 10.5 to 1. It was suggested that I go with a 570 cam to fix this. I am wondering if I could achieve the same 100/100 results by going to flat top pistons and getting the CR down to 9.7 to 1. I'm concerned about starter problems if I go with the 570 cam. I haven't had any starter issues with my current set up, but I am concerned that if I get the correct cam for my CR, that I will develope starter issues. If I went to flat top pistons, what gaskets would I need to get 9.7 to 1 CR? What would be easier, changing the cam, or changing the pistons? What would be more cost effective? Which would give better, more reliable results? I am more interested in torque than big numbers on HP.

Most of the 570s builds I have seen are with flat top pistons with the heads your running and
.030 head gaskets. The ones i have seen are running mid 90 HP and about 100 TQ. If you have compression releases you should not have starter prob.

I would have the timming curve changed and the fuel curve redone.
A good dyno man can do it for you,
