Whats up all, i'm new to Harley's and hope you guys can help me out a bit with mine. I have a 2004 Sporster 883 and lately it's been hiccuping alot. By hiccup I mean a momentary "gasp". I took it around today for about 4 or 5 miles and it was still doing it every once in a while. I was going to go for a ride tomorrow so I wanted to get it fixed today. Any help would be great.

I took the spark plugs out- the tips were white and the threads were black.

About the bike:

I got it used about 1 1/2 years ago. Only rode it a handful of times. Everything is stock on it and it has about 4000 miles on it.

 

Try cleaning the carb. Is it doing that as you try to give it throttle? You may have a bit of varnish on and in the jets, bowl, acc. pump from not riding much. I would also consider changing out the fuel filter and use fresh gas.

 

Pilot jet is too small.
Increase incrementaly, until the sneeze is gone.

 

Really? Even though the bike is completely stock? What size to I have and what should I go up to? Where do I buy new jets?
