Default Need Advice on Muffler Change

I have an '07 Electra Glide Standard and am thinking of replacing the stock mufflers. I have been leaning toward the Screamin' Eagle 2 and would like some advice by someone who has them or has some experience with them, or any suggestions on other mufflers. Thanks

I had set of SE slip-ons on my FLHTCU for about 5 months. After trying to convince myself they were ok, I recently replaced them with a set of Rush with 1.75" baffles. Now I'm much happier with the sound and the bike performs better. I'm running a V&H fuelpak at the moment but I am going to order a PCV from Fuelmoto this week or next. By the way, I'm running V&H true duals and my Rush mufflers are louder than a friend's bike running the same mufflers with the stock header pipes.

My next favorite slip-on mufflers are the V&H ovals. I have a set of those on my FLHX along with a set of V&H true duals. Those have some bark to them. The ovals were quieter before I put the true duals on.

That's just my take based on replacements I've tried. Good luck in your search.

Thanks, info was very helpful. By the way, what becomes of the original mufflers when you change from stock to something else?

Some people sell or give them away. From what I've seen the stock mufflers don't bring much unless you run into someone that really needs/wants them. I keep mine around just in case I'm ever in a situation where they need to go back on.

I have read on this forum where FuelMoto has a setup using Rush mufflers and claim improvements over stock. I have Rush on my bike and for the price you can't beat em....of course I like the stock configuration on my bike. SE mufflers are however, 50 state legal as far as EPA goes.
