rinehart or vance and hines true duals
i have flhrsi custom. i have done no upgrades to my bike yet and was interested in true duals. ihear alot of rinehart and vance and hines. im kinda short on cash and plan on getting new air kit and remapped in about 2 or 3 but wondered would it be o.k to run just the true duals for a couple of months without harm. has anyone compared the performance of these two brands? i dont want to lose much horsepower or gas mileage. and i want that deep harley sound

RE: rinehart or vance and hines true duals
Combined 39 MGP (highway/city)..
Although I am not sure that "short on cash" and Rineharts should really exist in the same sentence
I love mine, which I installed with the Stage 1 and PCIII on the same day.
This topic is debated daily around here it seems... good luck!

RE: rinehart or vance and hines true duals
You will not be able to run the Rineharts or V&H's without changing the EFI. The true duals change your AFR (air fuel ratio) too much on an already lean motor. The Rineharts are actually just a little cheaper than a full set of V&H's with Oval Slipons. Your best bet is to call Eastern Performance Cycles (sponsor here) for their price. They are about 25% cheaper on both than what you are going to find at the dealer. Wait and install the new pipes when you do the air breather upgrade and have it tuned properly. With true duals you are probably gonna have to install a SERT (Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner) or PCIII (Power Commander) and have it dyno tuned to make it run the way you want it to.
