Default cam advice please.

I am looking for a bolt-in cam that will work with stock pushrods and springs. It is going into a 95" on a FXDX. Stock compression, Mikuni 42 carb, K&N and Khrome Werks slip ons. I had a few suggestions for Andrews 26 but am wondering if it being a light bike (and rarely carry a passenger or bags) if there might be a better fit? Any help is appreciated.

SE 211 but this cam works well with high comp. Its a little lazy of the line but nice after 2400/2600 rpm. I did a combo for a customer with.

SE BIG BORE 95
SE 9.6.1 PIST.
SE 211 CAMS
SE 42 MIKUNI CARB
V&H STRAIGHT SHOTS

GOT 92 HP WITH STOCK HEADS. If I can find dyno later I will post it. There are better cams than this but if you are looking to stay with SE CAMS this my 2 cents.

Seeing that this may be on a budget, I would just drop a SE 203 in it. Chicago HD $215 + shipping. It will work just as good as a Andrews 26 on the bottom end but have more top end charge.

I agree. I just installed a set in my bike. I picked them up off of ebay for $100.

Just done my build using 211 SE cams and so far I'm pleased. Yea, they're a little slow on the bottom end but I like to play in the mid-range, so no engine lugging here!!!

HQ 0034 or 500, depending on what year it is.

Personally, I don't know how you can beat a SE 204 cam. Tons of low end and pulls right up to 5K.
It's the same cam as an Andrews 37B with a 4 degree advance. Works perfect with 95" with flat top 9.4 to 1 compression. No pinging or hot start issues.

Which is "better" depends on how you ride, where you want your tq, how high you normally rev... If you typically, normal riding style, do not shift abouve 4,500 rpm's, the 26 will be great for you. If you normally shift between 3ooo and past 5ooo than something else. That being said, even above 45oo rpms, the 26 will perform better than your stock cam.

Regarding the 203, it is a street legal cam - even here in California.

I tend to ride my bike pretty aggressively. I do a lot of riding in the city and the bike is my daily commuter. I tend to accelerate as fast as I can, I tend to hit the rev limiter at least a few times a month, and I hit 100 mph a few times a month as well.

I am not really concerned about increasing the high end. Low to mid range torque is what I'm looking for, but also something that will perform throughout the rpm range. Also, it's a 2001. Don't know if that makes a difference.
