Smile 88inch upgrade to 95 inch any advice ?

I have a 2005 roadking with power commander ; big air sucker ; true duals w/rhinehart eagle beaks. After many thoughts I'm planning to go with the andrews gear drive TW50 cams w/ new 95inch cylinder/piston upgrade. Also have the heads reworked . Any suggustions or thoughts?

TW50 might deliver power higher than you'd like. On a heavier bike I'd look at something that works well low-midrange. The TW50 is more of a higher rpm cam for light bikes. You may want to decide where you'll be compression wise before choosing a cam.
Your "head guy" should be able to make recommendations based on riding style, etc. I am by no means an expert.

You may really want to reconsider your cam choice. Take a look see at where the cams perform and then compare to your riding style. The upgrade to the new style tensioners is fine, but I would definitely pick another Andrews cam for a bagger.

The mech was telling me a 10:1 compression is that good for that cam?

I think that cam is recommended up to 9.8:1. If you're doing alot of two up riding and hills, etc.I'd look at the TW31. If you want to "wring it out", the 50 would be ok. It may be numb until close to 3000rpm though.

Default More Wrong Info

Zippy,
Again, your "mechanic" is not up to speed with what the hell is happening.
A 95-98" bore, on your seasoned cylinders, along with an Andrews 37,(or a 26 if low/mid is in need) or what we would prefer, a Wood 6, set at 10:1, along with the proper cylinder head modifications, and then tuned correctly, will have you KNOWING, that it was what you were looking for. Absolutely no doubt about that, whatsoever.(even more on tap with larger cam/compression)
Very broad power from just up off idle, to 5500 plus.
Very smooth, and increased fuel economy as well.
Do not even have a clue as to how many of these combinations we have done.
No BS, all truth.

Hillside has some good advice there. Along with almost every other reply. The woods 6 and 10:1 is a very popular combination.
