Good Evening,
Wanted some input from some experts regarding the 80" Road King that I bought last summer. It is using a little bit of oil and and smoking on the start ups. I think the carb also needs some work too..
I am thinking of putting it in the shop in the next month or so and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on my options and what they think would work well. Do I just have them rebuild the 80"? Can I bump it up to 95" like the other models? New carb? Rebuild? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way the bike only has 7,000 miles, I think it just sat too long.

I'd upgrade it and put a new cam in it, something like an EV27 or something.

 

I'd seriously look at an S&S 96" motor. Prices have really came down and it may save you in the long run. Give Eastern (in Maryland) a call and ask for a price.
