Default head clean-up

SE Deluxe,

I am thinking of doing the heads and possibly TB. Probably will not bump the compression, 200 CCP is about all the starter can take. When I do the heads I will get compression releases to ease the burden on the starter. I usually hang out on the other forum so if I do it I will post the after results there. The before results are already posted.

200ccp and you dont have comp releases........put them in just for one of those days when you never know.. what type of head are you going with????
i have an 05 deluxe you should see what i am doing with it. i had it at the shop and took her home because of some sarcastic remarks that some people on this forum and others were making.. i hacked it up and put a 200mm tire on it and new fender as well as a inverted forks. its really coming together.
Dave is a good guy and did not deserve what certin members and sponsors said to him..
oh yea just a warning watch your PMs to sponsors and members they pass them along to others .

Default headwork for SE251

SE

I will not talk about who's heads I will go with. There is too much controversy and second guessing. I will talk about objective for the heads though. All I think I want is compression releases, slightly bigger intake valves with 7mm stems, stronger behive springs such as SE or Comp and a decent porting/valve job.

Then maybe rework my stock TB at HPI or buy the SE 50 TB with the bigger injectors. I think either one would feed the expected 110+ HP/TQ.

It will not be a monster motor but it will be just what a hot bagger should be. Although someone with a toque monter 120" might disagee with the last statement.

Default Dyno Chart for 09 Ultra with SE251 Cams

Here is Dyno chart for 09 Ultra with SE251 cams, SE MVA 110+ Heads, 103 CU IN Bore, Forge Pistons to match heads

I hope this helps show the torque curve rises straight up on SE 251's very quickly and answers any questions of performance.

Default dyno chart

Travelingman,

I only got a red X.

I can tell you my build hits 100 ft/lbs torque by 3,000 rpm.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the replys, right now I'm running the stock heads, and will post the numbers when I get enough miles to put it on the dyno.

Smile SE 251 cams

Funally got my bike dyno tuned after doing the 103ci, w/251 cams. I ended up getting 90hp with 100.? torque, not as good as others I've seen posted here but I'm happy with the build. Thanks for all the replys.

capt, not bad for stock heads . 251's are good all around cams but don't have the torque of some or the top end of others. But for these heavier bikes they work well don't have any big holes in them, for me they don't have the top end I want but still looking for something that is fairly quiet ,chain driven .650 lift cams and won't completely kill the lower end .
