Default New Build/Your Thoughts?

Can I get a some opinions on a (98") build I'm considering? I'm thinking on upping the compression to 10:5 with Kury TC26G cams, Wiseco forged flat tops, HPI 48mm TB and appropriate head work (valves-1.9I/1.62E) Good, bad, ugly? What would you do different and why?

Below is my current build

05 Eglide
98"
37g's @9.7
mild street port heads (Kibble White valves/stock size )
Timken conversion
Darkhorse Proplugged crank/no weld
stock throttle body
D&D Fatcat
VPC clutch
Thundermax AT

Thanks,
Rick

Default Options

Domed pistons to achieve 10.5 to 1

HPI 51mm, more torque and horse

RR525 cam quick torque and less oil temperature @10.2 to 1

If you going to use that 26 cam consider a set of 1.72 exhaust rockers to get more heat out.

Randy,

Thanks for the input, I have a couple of questions.

How much do you think the 48mm TB will limit me? I got it cheap and a new one will be a budget buster.

Why the domed pistons? Won't the flat tops get me to 10:5? I have a set of low mileage Wisecos I was hoping to use.

What brand rockers do you recommend?

Thanks,
Rick

48mm compaired to HPI 6-9 torque and horse.
I would rather use domed pistons than wack the heads for future mods and the intake will not have to be refit.
R&R makes the best rockers and they will split ratios.

Stage 2 cnc porting to remove core shift and balance velocity and cfm's front to rear.
Without hacking the heads down you will need an 8 cc dome for 10.3 to 1 compression at 98"'s.

"The best is an oxymoron" isnt that what you said to me Randy on another site when comparing heads.... R&R makes some good stuff but they falll right in line with every one else.

The 48mm is an HPI, I picked it up used at a good price. I thought the 55mm was more for the 107+ motors.

Sounds like I should try to fit some new pistons in the budget.

Thanks,
Rick

It's an oxymoron when it comes to heads on that other forum! I have seen issues with "every" manufactured roller rocker except the R&R's (knock on wood).

Randy good cover up.. the reason i think yopu do not see any issues with R&R products is that they handle any problems immediately. there forth it never hits mainstream. i highly doubt they are a trouble free company they just handle it diffrently which is excellant
