OK. I have the S&S gear drive cams installed and the torque is up to 105fp+ & HP is right around 92HP. The Hp is down because I'm running Scr Eacle 16 guage 2 into 2 exhaust pipes. No fears I got the hole shot I expected and am happy as a clam.. Next comes the oil cooler.. I want to run into the summer months tho just to see if I really need one. I live in Ohio and don't have the weather that's going on in the western deserts

I have S&S .585 gear drives in my bike now. They make good power, but the torque curve doesn't come in 'til the mid-4k rpm. I'm swapping to Wood's 9B here very soon...

I putting gear drive cams in my 2005 Night Train. What is the maximum run out for the pinion shaft for a safe installation?

More than happy with S&S 570G cams 2 years running. Quieter than the chain-driven SE203s they replaced, smooth torque curve and the power where a touring bike normally revs at.

I was looking for the hole shot and not the high end, also get rid of the chain tensioners primarily before the funny (not so funny) noises start.
I hope this helps......

The way I understand it, Andrews has, in the past supplied the gears to S&S along with the cams untill S&S bought and installed their own cam machines. S&S started sourcing the gears some where other than Andrews (sometimes you get them, sometimes you get the Andrews). I sold a stage kit with gears to a guy in Florida who had Doc install the kit. Doc would not use anything but the Andrews manufactured gears in the engine because of concentricity I believe.
