Default HPI OEM Throttle body/intake overhaul???

Hey boys-
I'm planning a 98" build this winter. It will be for my '06 Road Glide, so I don't want to kill my torque. I have been looking at ways to improve my shi*ty intake. I could go all out and buy a new intake/throttle body for $700, or I could go with HPI's OEM intake /throttle body overhaul for $200. Plus they are running a 10% off until the 15th of Dec. They punch it out to 48mm and clean up the intake. I talked to Eric from HPI and he said folks see and average fo around 5% increase in power from the OEM overhaul, and about 10% from one of their intake/throttle bodies. Although my OEM would be sufficient for a 98", I wouldn't mind cleaning it up a bit. Has anyone had this done? What's your opinion?
Thanks!
Jason

Hillside Cycles does TB modifications.
JET also does them as well.
Dakota Kid does them too.
BC Gerolamy also.

Just a few more to throw out there.

Thanks for the info Steve!
Dakota and BC are $325 each.
I can't find a site for JET.... anyone?
I didn't see any info on Hillside's site, I'll have to call them tomorrow.

I initially went to HPI cuz they seem to be a popular choice in aftermarket intakes here on the forum.

Ya a few guys do it now, but I think your right on track stayin smaller. You'll loose some bottom with larger TB's

Exactly!!! I don't want to loose my velocity and loose my low end torque. I'm already somewhat behind the 8ball on that, I'll be keeping my true duals. But I can't help but think I can do this mod, clean up the intake as best as possible, see some gains, and still keep my velocity up.

When I talked to Eric from HPI, he stated I should go NO BIGGER than 48mm with an aftermarket intake on a 98" motor, if I went that route. And even then, it may be overkill if the motor is built for low RPMs. He stated their intake and TB's flow much more than other setups out there, and it's not all about your overall bore size. He said guys get sucked into the "bigger is better" mindset with TBs and this is the last component you want to go overboard with on a build with unless you are looking for all out racing at 7,000rpms.
