Default Boarzilla vs Fatcat for a 117

From all the reading I've done so far I have decided to replace the Pro-pipe on my 117" Road King with either a Boarzilla or Fatcat. It seems like I'm right on the fence between the two for a 117" engine. It has S&S 625 cams and 10.8-1 compression. I also understand that there are a couple of different ways to change the baffles between the 2 pipes depending on the engine size. I'm most interested in low to mid torque. The D&D guy said to go with the Borzilla put a couple of posts sounded like the Fatcat may be better for a 117". As for sound, loud is OK as long it's a low note and not tinny. Help!

the smaller headpipes of the fatcat will definitely produce more low range torque...not sure exactly what rpm the boarzilla will overtake, but it will make more horsepower

Default Fatcat or Boarzilla

Skyhook,

Thanks for the info. I am definitely more interested in torque than top end HP so it sounds like the Fatcat would be a better choice.

I had a guy respond to a post who said his tuner ran the FC and Boarzilla on the same engine. The FC won out until 4500 rpm and then the Boarzilla took over. Sounds like the FC is definitely what I'm looking for.

Fatcat is probably your best choice, with the performance baffle. Buddy of mine runs one on his HQ 120 and it snarls like crazy and is really loud, but he posted some really great numbers on the dyno, 157 tq from his HQ build. I am running the Boarzilla with the quiet baffle and tq is less but hp is more and the note is much deeper.

Thanks Dalton,

I went ahead and ordered the FC with the performance baffle. I also ordered the ghost pipe. I'm anxious to see what it looks like on.....
