Just picked up the new '09 SE Catalogue and found an interesting 103 build. Their graph shows 97-98HP and about 108TQ on stock 96" heads. The package includes: 3 7/8" jugs, perfect fit pushrods, 10.5:1 forged piston kit, clutch spring, SE valve spring kit, 251 cams, gasket set, and the new EFI Super Tuner. Price is $1499.($1200 from the 20% off guys). They call this a Stage III 103 kit. This is a non-street legal set up and there is a stage IV also. I liked the looks of this package as it is a build in a box and includes the tuning stuff.
should work ok...I'd use a smaller cam (someting that closes the intake valve around 40* and has 240* intake duration) unless heads are worked and bigger throttle body is used
ahh, hardcopy. how quaint.
J/K, but if the hardcopy is available, then obviously the electronic copy is also. Wonder how long it will take HD to update the website.
HD measures HP and Torque at the crank, not at the rear wheel like the rest of us do.
You can minus 10-15% for loss to get a better idea of what it would be at the rear wheel.
Steve
HD sales literature and web site quote stock TQ #s at the crank.
The SE cat. states that the HP and TQ #s are rear wheel on a Dynajet, likely under ideal conditions. I know a few guys that have done SE builds and have generated #s at or very close to HDs.
