883 to 1200 Conversion

had an 883 and did the 1200 bore job...went to car machine shop (not recommended) to have the cylinders bored...told the guy, these cylinders are 3.000 now, bore them to 3.498...he said, you can't do that, never seen a 1/2 inch bore job....then he got his calipers and measured the sleeve...he said, wow, you really can do that! that little bike really screamed after the conversion...it would wheelie from a stop without revving and slipping the clutch!
