Default Exhaust, 2-1 or true dual

Can anyone tell me the pro's and con's of 2-1 versus true dual. Performance differences ? Sound? Heat?

I went with the rinehart true duels because I have a 08 egc, I like people to hear me on the road when I am coming, plus I like the look on a bagger. What ride do you have ?
That is one consideration but not the most important . I understand 2 into 1 pipes are easier to tune for great results.
Fishfinaddict out.

I have an Electraglide standard. Stage 1 kit thats it. Plan to do some mods this winter like big bore kit and cam and wanted to start with a good exhaust and tuner. I like them loud too and I was looking at the 2-1 Thunderheader. My friend has one on his streetglide and sounds sweet. I was also considering True dual Rineharts but real pricey. Heat is a problem for me because I'm short and my legs hug the crossover...hot...I don't know if heat is the case with the 2-1 but I know thr true duals resolve that issue..So many choices..drives you crazy!!

I've had a few duals systems, and a few 2-1 systems.............a 2-1 is just smoother and better for the low-end power.

There are a ton of 2-1 systems out there for baggers............just have to find the one that fits your tastes.

I'm still liking the idea of the Bub 7 duals with crossover. I'd like to know from someone firsthand who's tuned/used them how well-executed the crossover is and how/if it affects the rear O2 sensor reading. Anybody?

For some info, take a look at this: http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/
Especially if you're going to do a build.

Which system provides better mid to high rpm power (say 3000 to 4000 rpm)? Just came back from a trip and I want better 4th and 5th gear passing power for my '08 RG. How does 2-2 and 2-1 compare in that situation?

There's a lot of good information throughout that RBRacing site.

The (unconnected) dual exhausts tend toward favoring mid-to-high rpm power generation at the expense of the lower rpm ranges. A connected dual exhaust will drop that favored area to the lower ranges at the expense of the upper ones.

A 2-into-1 exhaust can work extremely well everywhere.

I believe most (true) dual exhausts "come on" just fine by the 3-4k rpm range.

Thumbs up true duals

I put a set of true duals on my 04 Electra Glide and the loss of power was really noticeable, I removed them after two days and went went back to the stock crossover and Kirker pipes, sounds good and works good. Also I do not expect a HD to perform like a crotch rocket but as I said it lost enough power as to where I missed it.
This is just my experience and may not hold true in all cases however I hate to see anybody spend that amount of $$$ and be disappointed.

G@@D LUCK ! ! ! !
