cams
Got a 06 heritage classic. Want to upgarde the stock cams. Have been told se203's close to stock. Suggested SE 204's and was told hard to tune. Then told 211's but SE states use with HTCC motor and I have a stock motor. Really don't want to get into the top end.
Any suggestioins?
Thanks

211's have way too much duration for a stock motor. Maybe look outside the SE line, there are better cams for a stocker upgrade. Andrews 26g's are good, and woods performance makes a good stocker set aswell! Just look around, the more you look, the more you'll learn, and the better understanding you'll get of why certain cams are better or worse.

Geez, I just installed a set of 204's and they are not hard to tune, and they are not soft on bottom. I'n my 95" they plain old work. Yes there are better bolt ins out there for a price. I picked these up on ebay for $70. I had Andrews TW21's in the bike and went to these and there was a world of difference. Don't be afraid of the top end. Its easier than the cam chest.

Not a big fan of SE cams. I agree with above, Andrews and Woods make MUCH BETTER grinds. Andrews TW26 and the TW37 are very popular "torquey" grinds.
A little heads up, if your gonna do your cams, convert to gear drive while your in there and get rid of the crappy chain drive. Gear drive is a way to bullitproff ur cam chest and gets rid of cheap tensioner shoes that need to be inspected often.

The SE 204 is a good bolt in cam, My buddy runs them in his Fatboy, I have the HQ .575s and the idle is different between our bikes, his a little more "potato" mine more like a NHRA prostock, but our bikes run very similar. he has no head work and I have a bit more power all over, but its not that big of a deal.

The 204 is a good replacement cam in a stock bike. It will make usable torque from 1800 up till the heads and intake run out or you hit the rev-limiter. The 211 is definitely not a good choice in a stock bike unless you bump up the compression to over 10:1. Don't take it from me, talk to some reputable engine builders that aren't trying to sell you something and they will explain valve timing VS compression ratios. The 26 is a popular drop in with good reviews.
