Default Cams and Tuning Questions

I have a 2002 roadking w/ SE slipons, SE stg1 air cleaner and thats it motor wise. I am thinking of getting some SE211 cams from a friend and wondering if I can just install these w/out any type of programming? I am considering getting either the PC3r or the V&H Fuel pack.

Thanks

David

I don't think you are going to like the outcome using that cam. Even if it is free!

I won't even use the 211 for a paper weight...

For a quick cheap HP fix, SE204's would do well in your setup. Highly under rated. Wood 6's would be a great choice but more bucks. They like compression. I run a 95" with the 204's at 9.5-1 and it really goes good. You can pick these cams up used from time to time for a song. Put new tensioners and cam bearings in while your at it.

what cams would be good for my current setup, where to get them, and also would they benefit me at all hp & tq wise? Also w/ whatever cams I were to get would the V & H fuel pack work tuning wise or would I be better off just getting the power programmer?

Thanks

Andrews TW26, SE204, Wood TW6, Crane 300-2, in no paticular order. The fuel pack would work OK, but you should get a tune to make it right.

Good choices except I would put a 4 degree advance gear on the woods TW6 and if you do mods (raise compression) you can pull the gear off. I would also go with the tune.

Very true. The gear will be well suited for current motor. I love my 204's but if I had to do it over again, I would have spent the longer dollar and done the Wood 6 from the beginning. I got my 204's for 70. and it seemed like a good idea at the time, and it has worked out fine, but the 6's hold more potential.

If your doing the cam swap yourself, why not throw them in and see.

It's easy with a set of adjustable pushrods (that are re-usable with any cam swap) and a couple of gaskets/seals.

There virtually free to try plus you'll get the experience of changing a set of cams.

BTW, I really like my Head Quarters cams.

If you decide to buy, give them some consideration.
