Slipons versus full install

Slipons versus full install
Hi. It's been awhile since I've asked a newb question. Hope you don't mind....Also, I thought that I had seen this discussed somewhere before but I couldn't find it. Sorry if it's a repeat.
I'm looking at getting Vance and Hines exhaust on my 06 XL 1200R. I'm trying to decide between the Straightshots HS ($500) and the Straightshots SO (slipons for $250). Is there a big difference between the full setup as opposed to the Slipons? I wonder the same thing about the CycleShacks - slipons versus full install.
If it doesn't make any difference I'd rather save the money for other mods.
Thanks as always.

RE: Slipons versus full install
I just went through this myself. From what I found out the stock pipes weren't that bad. I went with the slip-ons. I was also told by my local cycle shop that Screamin Eagle slip-ons were actually made by Cycle Shack. I went with the Krome Werks tapered pipes. I liked the looks not to mention the fact they sound great.
