Is this for real??
I'm looking to have my bikes engine modified and I find this place that's saying:
Total cost about $4000
95 CI
cams,head work and SERT
results: 90+ HP 100+ torque
More head work -- Total cost about $5000
100-110 HP
110+ Torque
They look reputable and the person(s) I talked to seem honest and straight forward
But this is a lot of HP and Torque for 95 CI
Tell me what you think -- Thanks

That's very possible I have an 02 fatboy with a 95" putting out 100hp and 105 lbs of tq which I'm selling the top end (asking around $1,200.00) it has 7,000 miles on it, it includes the juggs, pistons 10.5 to 1and ported heads with compression releases installed and redshift 577 cams it's a zipper's big bore kit, latr

RE: Is this for real??
seems freaking high to me. Not power output but cost. I am at ~high 90's torq and 87hp and I have stock 06 heads with minor work done by steve at GMR $275 (the heads were a push as I sold my 04 heads for what I paid for the 06 heads $150), I had stock cylinders bored by Dan Baisley $150, bought 95 SE flat tops for $90 NIB off the swap meet section, gasket kit from GMR $103 included head gaskets, Andrews 26G's from AMS $525.
I did the labor myself. So saying I wanted to get more power i would need a bit more head work and bigger cams. Say I added 500 for more head work and bigger cams would have cost the same. that is still leaving over $2000 for labor. I did the entire build in one day.

RE: Is this for real??
When you figure in gaskets, plugs, oil, filter, labor, tune, etc etc etc the price go up very quickly. It's fairly cheap to get 80/90 a lot more to get 100/100 and a lot more to get 105/105 and mega bucks to get 110/110 from a 95' motor.
You guys can say $4500.00 to $5500.00 bucks is a rip all you want but bottom line adding up all the expence this is what they cost.

RE: Is this for real??
Here is one example of a build GMR just did for a member in my Heritage Springer group.
edit* Also, many builders don't want to dyno a new build til at least the 500 mile break in..Usually not part of the build cost.
