installed 570 cams in my 01flht,i talked to s&s tech and they told me i could probably get away without doing any head work.i decided that i would at least change springs to s&s sidewinders.i will be pulling heads at later date when there is more funds.anybody done this before with 570 lift.i want to be sure i won't have any problems.

RE: s&s 570 cams
Man, you got more ***** than me putting in a set of .570 lift cams into a stock motor! Good luck...seriously, I don't mean to cry wolf but I think the S&S tech you talked to was fullof ___t!
You didn't mention if this was a stock motor. In an 88" motor you will loose a lot of torque under 3,000 rpm.
By the way, your stock valve springs don't have the pressure to support the cams. Also, the .570 like compression over 9.5:1. I ran a set for 5 years at 10:1. A mild porting of the heads will show big benefits.
With the right setup, e.g. 95", 10:1, ported and flowed, valve spring clearanced, FI tweaks/carb, and exhaust, you'll pull about 95 HP and 105 lbft of torque. And the torque will be down low.
