Default How do I get top off?

I would like to shim my jet needle with 2 brass washers.
I started on this project yesterday, didn't think it would be too big a deal. I have a Hypercharger installed, didn't want to unhook all the attachments, so I took the seat off, raised the tank to get at the top of the carb. There are just 4 screws holding to top of the carb, but one of them also holds the throttle bracket. I took all 4 screws off, but couldn't get the top off due to the throttle bracket holding it on. The bracket also has another screw on the side but I could't get a screwdriver on it to loosen it, not enough space. So, I called it quits before I made a mess of something and have to take it to a shop.
I know this should be an easy mod.

Do I need to take the hypercharger off, I don't have directions since it came on the bike. Any suggestions?

Thanks

that bracket holds the throttle cables you have to take it off the easiest way is to take off the carb

That's kinda what I thinking. Just wondering if there was another way.

Oh well, guess I'll have to take hypercharger and all off. [:@]Besides the throttle cable bracket, what else do I actually have to unhook from the carb to do what I want to do? Anything you guys learned the hard way that might save me a trip to the shop?

You can rotate the carb a bit with the hupercharger off and get to the necessary screws. It makes a simple job a difficult job when you try to do it with the hyper on there. It's not difficult to remove.

Thanks TC...I was hoping you would catch this thread. I figured you would know the best way to tackle this.

I've got an oil pressure guage on the way, it mounts on the top of the back head to 2 of the rocker cover bolts. I'm gonna have to raise the tank to do it so I guess I'll do it all at the same time. I'll either get it all done or I'll have on big mess and a bag of parts. LOL

Thanks

If you go to this page http://www.kuryakyn.com/category.asp...=Hyperchargers

You can locate the hyper you have by picture and it will give you the installation instructions for it there once you click on the pic. It'l make your life a little easier
