RE: GMR 124" first dyno numbers!
NEW NUMBERS!!!
Just got off the phone with Mike. Now we're cooking!
137/132 STD
134/130 SAE
So we picked up another 6 and 1 by tweaking the timing and pulling the baffles. He said that most of it came when he bumped the timing. The pipes are obviously doing their job I can't wait to see what she does when we get some break-in miles on 'er. We still have one more thing to try. We're going to try out a one range cooler plug.
Here are the charts in SAE and STD. Both charts compare the numbers I had with my 98" to the 124".

Nice sheets I can think back when you where told that your 98 STD numbers where down much more than that nice to see that where not as far off as others thought. Nice comparison between the two. So now the question is will it be enough power for you?? The tq curve looks great. Not bad for a engine that is using a 1.9 intake valve.I am sure it will be a blast to ride. No issues with pump gas, that heat down there has to be a killer.

I rode it until dark yesterday (only to discover that my headlight went out!) Man was it ever worth the wait! This engine reminds my so much of the 98" I had before except with alot more *****! What I mean is that it has the same excellent drivability and general driving characteristics. The power delivery feels of the same shape....only MUCH bigger. It's just as smooth. No extra vibration, shakes, or sounds. It's like my baby 98" is all grown up!
What can I say, I couldn't be more pleased with the drivability, the sound, and of course the power.
As a side note (and VERY unexpected), this thing cranks fine without the compression releases. Not that I'm going to make a habit of it. I just had to know. When it was cold it spun over just like the 98". When it was hot it did spin over slowly but it still fired up right away. I know that's pressing my luck so don't start preachin'. I used the releases after that...well, at least one of them. It just doesn't seem to need them both. Remember, the CCP of this moderate build is only 183 lbs calculated at sea level.
I beat the snot out of this thing off and on for the first 50 miles and I couldn't get the temperature over about 250-260 even when trying. The weather was nice. About 80-82 degrees and very humid I'd guess.
I was told by the service manager that this bike now holds their dyno's HP record. The previous best was 135 HP on a more aggressive 124" build.
"that heat down there has to be a killer."
In July and August it's like desert heat with rainforrest humidity! I believe we've put together the package to handle it though.

Hey towboat that is one big rear end LOL too funny.
That is a very nice curve ( tq that is ) and dont forget this is a build that is only a 10.8 build. There is no need for anymore compression for a standard street engine, that is run in high heat. Basic simple good combo of parts that works in everday use on standard pump fuel.
