Popping when I decelerate..
I bought my bike used, 800 miles. (05 Carb.) The guy I bought it from put V&H Bigshots, Hypercharger and I believe went up a jet on the carb.
When I let off the throttle from a hi PRM, it does some pretty good popping. Sounds cool but is this normal......if it's not, will it hurt my motor being too rich or lean? Which is it ....too rich or lean??
Thanks

RE: Popping when I decelerate..
A little pop is normal under decell sure but not the machine gun fire that makes you set up and notice. Don't have experance with hypercharger but the first thing I would do is adjust air/fuel mix. with the small brass screw located under bottom of carb. It will be inside a hole recessed. It comes from factory w/ a alum. plug that must be drilled out but if it has been rejeted it probably been removed

RE: Popping when I decelerate..
I don't have a tach, but there's very little pop when the RPM's are on the low side (best guess) and I decelerate.
I'm eventually going to get it dyno'd, but that's gonna be a while, just wondering if I'm hurting the motor if the air/fuel is not right.
I don't know squat about carbs, but I can turn a screw if I need to. Just want to turn the right one for the right reasons, but I'd rather let a pro do it.
Thanks again
