Anyone know if the 2008 softail tank is any different than the 2000-2007 models. I have an 08 fatboy, and plan on getting a exchange paint set for it. I have sinced noticed that there are specific part number differences between the 07 and o8 sets by harley. So I was wondering if there was something done to the 08 tank that would offset it to the earlier years??

Hello, yes they are different I had bought an 07 radical paint set for my 08 Deluxe and it would not fit I think the fuel pump is different and they changed the swingarms so the rear fender wont fit so my dealer called me and bought it back.

 

Thanks Fatdaddy for the confirmation. I called the painter and they had determined it as well. It is the mounting arrangement of the fuel pump.
