The carry over is a oil return problem whether the techs look at the parts or not they have to know what to look for other wise they take it apart and put it back together fixing nothing.

A old trick we used to do isget a light day mini pad from your wife and stick it in the bottom of the football air cleaner cover, this will absorb the oil for a while....change it every 28 days....lol.
Seriously this does work, at least it will keep the oil off the side of the bike, now don't use the ones with the wings because the little wing part will extend out of the a/ccover and drip on your engine. If you don't have oil gushing out of the a/c cover this will work....give it a try.
One more note....full kotex's will hinder theflow of air into theengine so don't go over board....lol.

This whole time I thoughtDoc wasa Proctologist[], only to find out you're a Gynecologist.......LOL!!!!![sm=smarty.gif]

Well i personally cant believe the problems with the 96 engine. I would like to keep the bike out of the shop but im beginning to think Harley just cant build engines for S H I T. Took mine in after posting. The service man told me they've been having problems with the 96 engines doing this. Told me to keep it in low rpms and it would help...I said like hell. I didnt buy a bike to poke around. Iv never heard of such crap Harley tries to sell the public in my life.
I will report what the dealer does for the blow by problem. the last time they told me i was filling it to full. I told them just to the mark on the dip stick. Full hot. They told me to leave it a half quart low. ???????? Im like yea whatever !

Oil Carry Over has been a problem from the first day Harley put a crank case breather hose in the air filter can from the Shovel head days, it's not only in the 96' motors. If the build is done correctly this is not an issue, installing an oil pump without the proper alignment pins AND rotating the engine as the pins are installed along with the proper tq.is very important.....if an oil pump is reinstalled with gyro scars inside the pump body it will have oil carry over no matter what the oil weight, thickness, or levelis. This problem is an issue not a rule, ie it's not every Harley that has this issue so it's repairable if your tech is 10% smarter than what he is working with.

Been seeing the same Oil Carry Over here also. I just take the A/C cover off every few hundred miles and clean it out. Don't trust my stealer to diagnose and repair the problem. [&o]

You know, I hear that more and more. People dont trust the Harley mechanics. I wonder if Harley knows this. I can tell you this. After they made repairs to the jujs on my bike they went to test it and the oil pressue went to -0- . They picked it up and said it was the o ring. I say it was the idiot moron that was working on it.I know some good mechanics that work there.
It looks to me, that I think a lot of people are blinded by hype more than the quality of the bike their buying. This is my first harley, and im not impressed to be honest. Underpowered. To many problems and the bike looks like its coming apart at a red light. Theres nothing on my bike that dont shake at a red light. lol . We will see what the dealer says when they look ia it. They ask me to bring it right down tuesday. I havent heard a word from them sense. Today is thurs.
