Default Fuel mileage

On a 03 Heritage Springer FLSTSI with stock pipes I got aprox. 97 miles on 4 gallons of gas.
I put SE slip-ons and I got 87 miles to 4 gallons of gas
This bike is NEW it had 7 miles on it 1-1-8,I have riddenit approx. 300 milesand this last tank I went 103 miles on 3.9 gallons.
What if anything is wrong with this bike??
Will it get better??
Thanks
Radar

Seems a bit thirsty to me...if you look through threads it seems like most are in 42-47 mpg range...45-50 in 1200. I have never been able to ride hard enough to drop below 40 in Stage I FI Deuce....just sayin John

Way low. As a Heritage Springer owner as well, and a complainer of poor mileage, I typically get 33 mpg(130 miles before reserve) on my '97, and average about 38 mpg on my '03. With my mileage, that would give you approximately 152 miles on 4 gallons. I would have it looked at.

Sorry, My bad, I didn't notice the FLSTSI. If I'm not mistaken the "I" indicates injected. This could be an expensive fix, not just a Saturday morning with 12 pack and a different size pilot jet.

Does your fuel mileage go downhistorically when you modify your bike like putting a 98 inch kit in it.Or does it not effect fuel mileage.

I have a 03 Duece that is fuelinjectedwith a stage 3 kit and hooker pipes. If I ride around 65 mph, I average between 40 and 45 mpg. At around 80 mph, I get about 30 mpg.
