103 build falls short of expectations

RE: 103 build falls short of expectations
If you want that RK to have fun and go up and down hills and anywhere you want to go, you are there now. If you want more, all these excellent people are right, head work with springs, another cam, etc, etc. And oh yeah clutch upgrade. Some more thing come to mine. 2-3K more, do your own work. Or 4-5K and have it done. Or a lot more.
My bikecan run very well but 99.99% of the time it just tootles down the road. I don't care about dyno charts. The other thing is, it is maybe only Stage 3. Enough for me. But I know some folks that can really fly,,,,,,,,we all do.
One thing I wanted was when some guy on a metric crusier goes hard, this thing is right there, and it is. I have had some mighty strange looks, but they don't know. I just grin. I can't worry about the rockets.

Not our experience, not enough manifold volume. I saw this at R&R Cycle when they were testing throttle bodys (only) on the dyno. The older SE bodys didn't make that much power because the area behind the throttle plate was too small. Take a look at the new one piece units, there is a big open belly to hold more plenum volume. You cannot get that on an older body so you need a larger one like going to a 51MM to get the volume so you have a bigger charge waiting. I saw those 95" bikes pick up 4-5-6 horse with the 51. They stuck on a 56MM for s#*ts and grins and the horse went up another 3-4 notches.

I finally picked up my bike last night and had a chance to look at the dyno sheet. You had asked about my numbers and what rpm the TQ was above 100. It crossed above 100 at 2300 RPM and drops below 100 at 5000 RPM.
All I got was a paper printout. When I have a chance to scan it I will attach it for you.

RE: 103 build falls short of expectations
HeypeopleI just finished a 103 build on a 07road king classic
I used cvo se 103 heads, se 103+ pistons stdI had my jugs boared out and and se 258 cams. Alsose breather and cobra speedster exaust. I had it maped good enough to protect it by
the harley dealership I don't know about rpm's but it dose not really turn on until about 75 mph, but when it dose turn on its awsome. I would like for it to turn on between 65 and 70mph.
So do I have my bike over camed............... kev
