Default Thanks Doherty!!

I recently emailed Doherty to ask about purchasing a couple of bolts/washers which are in their Power Pacc kit, & are also part of the smaller breather bolt kits they offer. I explained in the email that I didn't need the whole breather bolt kit, just two bolts/washers. Doherty replied that they'd send me the pcs free if I'd email back my address. Well I did & the parts got here yesterday - NO CHARGE! Now that's customer service...THANKS DOHERTY!!VicW.

Glad to hear of your good experience. I emailed Doherty over a week ago asking about the Power Pacc Kit and I am still waiting to hear from them..I am in Ont, Canada, but I don't think that should make a difference. All I need to know is if I use the stock football cover on a 2008 Street Glide and install the Power Pacc kit will I lose power buy not using the open air element. Looks like you're using your stock football cover, how do you like the power pacc, worth the money.. have heard lots of good things about it.

You can use the foot ball or any round cover. the round cover has to be a certain diameter but the football definatly fits and you will not loose power it's still wide open in the back your just covering up the ugly front. seems to pricey for me I'd try the arlen ness big sucker it's prob just as good maybe not all nice billet like the doherty but easier on the wallet!!

IMO the USA made Doherty backplate is in a class by itself. Impeccable machine work & attn to detail is obvious thruout. The SE & AN pcs may look like a better deal until you need customer service and/or the cheap chinese cast backplate cracks.

I'm afraid my sig picture is outdated. I did run the Doherty kit w/the stock football cover forawhile:

But now I'm running it open w/a Zippers filter:

I've got the Doherty on my Train also. Had it dyno'd with the football cover on and came up with 77.25hp using SERT and RB Racing 2-1 pipe. Not too bad for a stock 88 motor.
I was wondering why you changed to a Zipper's filter tho. Did you not like the one in the kit? Also, I noticed the hoses from the breather ports. Are you feeding that back to the engine, venting it, or ???
BTW: I have considered going to a spyke style air cleaner a few times. I just don't think I'll get the same kind of performance as the Doherty.

Nice numbers! The Doherty filter is fine, but the Zippers flows even better. I have the breathers vented to atmosphere.
