2007 FLHTCU. After a ride of 10 to 15 miles, I'll pull into the garage and when I turn the engine off , I hear a fairly loud, short whistle sound as engine shuts down. Haven't talked to dealer yet. Got any ideas? Happens 90 % of the time.

 

Hmmmm, sounds like she is trying to get your attention, requesting a longer ride!!

 

Mine does that.I have AN Big Sucker so it's pretty open so you can hear. I think it's a closed throttle plate and that idle thing (IAC),one more roll of the engine pulling air. Get a Whistle.

I have an 07 fltr that does that. I have k&n system sounds like it is coming from it.

 

Most of the time that sounds comes from the breather umbrella valve in the rocker box. It is more noticeable when an open air filter system in installed because the breathers are vented into the A/C.
A while back ,in or around 2002, we had a rash of the umbrella valves in Sportys sound like a 'wha wha'(all most like a baby doll)sound followed by a whistle as you turned the bike off.
Harley came out with a different material valve....it went from aGrey rubber umbrella valveto a Brown rubber umbrella valve.

Got an '07 FLHRS--same thing, every time I turn it off. Running a SE Stage I AC and VH Slips.
