Default pipes question

If I bolt on a set of strait pipes will I have to do anything else to the bike or should it run ok as is?

Drag pipes are no good for performance!! If you must use them, add some sort of backpressure to keep some of the low end tq you will lose.. And no it HAS to be jetted/tuned!

When you say strait (straight) pipes, I assume you mean pipes with no baffles at all, this is about the worst thing you can do for your bike. You will loose tons of tourqe and power by doing this, if you have to do this, please adjust your fuel mixture so that you don't melt the tops of your pistons. What type of pipes do you have now? Why do you want to put a straight pipe on it? If it is just for sound, a small baffle, like a 2" baffle will give you plenty of sound, it will actually sound better than straight pipes and give you more power. Any time you change the pipes, you should adjust the air fuel system to match for optimal performance, otherwise you will screw up the AFR and go from a good running bike to a shitty running bike and that is no good.
