I put the bike away last night after my normal 35 mile commute from DC... this morning it started, ran for 5-6 seconds and died. Plugs were replaced 2400 mi ago for the run down to Daytona. No indications of problems until today. Stock 88B with V&H long duals (w/crossover) Good 93 octane Shell in the tank.

Sounds like a fuel problem. Since there were no problems before you parked it last night, (right?),it might be a blown fuse for the fuel pump. Or fuel injection system fuse. If there were any problems before, like seeming to not take the gas, could be a fuel filter.
At least it hasdone it at home. Plus one for you no matter what.
