I looked around a bit, but didn't find any quick answer. Sorry if this is a repeat question.

Got 5,000 miles on my 08 RK. Had Rinehart td's installed right away, and bought the chrome tips. About 2,000 miles ago I put the black tips back on. Recently I noticed that the black tip on the left side has blued. I call it bluing because with it being black, it is actually a purple/red tone. I can't imagine the material itself would cause this, or if it is an exhaust/ignition issue. Anyone had this problem or has a clue? I'll be taking the bike in soon for the 5,000 mi. maintenance, so I'm sure I'll find out exactly what it is then, but I was hoping to compare notes. Thanks.

 

Known defect with the RH true dual tips. Nothing to worry about with the bike as long as your tune is good. They should replace under warranty.

Yep, welcome to the club. They have been replacing them if they are still in warranty and you can show an invoice.
